Recently answering questions at New York Film Academy, in regards to Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Carpenter voiced his opinion that Zombie took away the mystery behind Michael Myers. However, horror legend John Carpenter may disagree. Also, now knowing that the cenobite is a high priest of Hell explains why he, in particular, answers the call to the Lament Configuration when the puzzle box is opened. Personally, I find this name much more fitting, though I doubt it will ever replace the character’s nickname. After decades of calling him Pinhead, fans discover that his actual name is the Hell Priest. It is here where we learn Pinhead, like the author who created him, has a disdain for his nickname. Opening with a graphically detailed scene where the pin-faced demon slaughters the last remaining occult magicians in his mission to acquire all knowledge of the dark arts created by man, the bar is set quite high.
